    The reactor refers to the object or tool (a hollow coil composed of non magnetic material) that may play an impedance role in the circuit. The incoming reactor (or input reactor) is applicable to the frequency converter and installed at the incoming terminal (or input terminal) of the frequency converter. The "burbund" brand incoming reactor is referred to as "BaCl" for short. Its focus is to restrain the inrush current, limit the harmonic and protect the frequency converter.

Series reactor is also called compensation reactor,. "Burbund" brand high voltage series reactor is referred to as "bcksg", "Burbund" brand high-voltage series reactor is called "bcksc" for short. It is commonly used in high-voltage reactive power compensation in series with capacitors to limit the switching inrush current of capacitors, control the distortion of grid voltage waveform and control the harmonic component flowing through capacitors; reduce and stop the risk of harmonic current, protect capacitors and improve power factor.

The series reactor is mainly used to limit the short-circuit current, but also in series or parallel with the capacitor in the filter to limit the high-order harmonics in the power grid. The reactors in 220kV, 110KV, 35kV and 10kV power grids are used to receive the charging capacitive reactive power of cable lines.

UHV shunt reactors have various functions related to the operation of reactive power in the improved power system, including:

1. Capacitance effect on light no-load or light load lines to reduce power frequency transient overvoltage;

2. Improve the voltage distribution on long transmission lines;

3. The reactive power in the line is balanced on the spot as much as possible under light load to avoid reactive power divergence and reduce the power loss on the line;

4. When the large unit and the system are parallel, the power frequency steady-state voltage on the high-voltage bus will be lowered, which is convenient for the generator to be parallel in the same period;

5. Avoid the self excitation resonance sign of generator with long line;

6. When the neutral point of the reactor is assembled through the small reactance grounding, the small reactor can also be used to compensate the phase to phase and phase to ground capacitance of the line, so as to speed up the active extinguishing of the potential supply current and facilitate the adoption.
